Answer preview

Another biblical teaching is on treating all people fairly irrespective of their standing in society. In Zachariah 7:8-14 (New King James Version), God is urging people to “execute true judgment” with mercy and compassion without taking advantage of the weak, the poor, strangers, and the fatherless. God will punish the people who refuse to heed the commands by scattering them and making their land desolate. There are several occasions whereby the poor, orphans and widows are poorly treated in the society because they have no defender. God warns people that those who execute judgments falsely will be punished by being scattered from their lands. A student at Belhaven understands that God detests the mistreatment of the poor and the helpless and will therefore punish those who are taking advantage of them. Secular institutions do not teach about the need to have compassion when working with the disadvantaged in society.
