Based on this information, prepare a tip sheet of the five most important recovery principles for individuals with severe mental illness that new social workers in the field should consider including why social workers are knowledgeable about evidence-informed interventions to achieve the goals of clients and constituencies, including individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities.

New social workers need to understand that mental recovery is not so straightforward, unlike other forms of treatment. You must come to terms with the fact that there is no set of criteria to be followed (Frost, Tirupati, Johnston, 2017). The recovery process is a learning experience that will expose you to setbacks you will learn from and improve. A social worker should approach this process with an open mind, knowing that someday they will stumble backward despite the effort and sacrifice of recovery. However, the setbacks should not discourage you from completing this journey; they should act as a stepping stone toward the next level.
