As people age, focus on beauty and youth becomes a concern because of the societal standards about physical appearance. Society is obsessed with youthfulness and beauty, and we are trying to measure up to society’s ideal looks and physical appearance. The older we get, we become more concerned with the aging face, the body shape, and the desire to look better than others. Physical attractiveness affects the way we are treated in schools, workplaces, and other social places. The “less attractive” feels less popular, affecting their self-esteem; they get frustrated, depressed, distressed, and pressured (Fardouly & Vartanian, 2016).  The perception that someone doesn’t look good compared to their peers makes them dislike their faces and bodies. Consequently, they try to hide imperfection by applying makeup and editing their social media pictures to look more appealing and gain social approval.
