Answer preview

Although the reasons for the fall in social capital in America are convincing, they do have some weaknesses. For instance, technology has caused people to enjoy activities individually, but at the same time, it has created a sense of community through social networks. Platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram have developed energy for social capital within the United States. People are now able to interact and engage with each other despite differences in geographical locations. Secondly, there are trending groups that have created a space to allow social capital despite being committed to the workforce. For example, organizations such as clubs and local art museums have enabled individuals to work in the institutions through deeper interactions within the community (Brewer, 2003). There are groups focused on men or women, which people find time for; hence, America’s social capital may not have declined after all.
