Management is a universal process whose basics are similar and can be transferred from one environment to another. The qualities of a manager are like the qualities of a good leader, including competence and capability to run an organization (Tyrańska, 2017). A manager, therefore, requires adequate and rich skillset which can be narrowed down to technical, conceptual, and interpersonal skills (Matsudaira, 2019). These basic skills are broadly categorized into the main qualifications that employers look for before hiring a manager whom they expect has acquired the skills through education and experience.

Technical skills are specific to a particular discipline or field and confer competence on the acquirer of the skills, for example, banking skills that make a banker competent to perform banking activities. On the other hand, conceptual skills make an individual capable of connecting and appreciating the working dynamics of an organization and the interconnectedness of the diverse departments in an organization (Matsudaira, 2019).
