Answer preview
Big data analytics is very important in the modern world, where data is being generated from multiple sources. According to Shayaa et al. (2017), around 2.67 billion people use social media all over the world. Most of these people are active on social media daily, sharing their opinions with the public. Many private and government institutions have understood the importance of big data, and they are using big data analysis to improve their products or services. Big data has also been used in smart cities to improve people’s life by integrating data from social networks and the Internet of Things (Psomakelis et al., 2016). All information collected in smart cities comes from people’s feedback, and the sensors placed on different infrastructures. For example, carbon sensors can detect the level of carbon concentration in the air. Big data from the smart city is analyzed using sentiment analysis and event detection. Big data analytics in RADICAL platforms has been used in other areas, such as banks, security agencies, and utility companies.(1557words)
