The harm faced is caused by several reasons, some preventable and others not preventable. The protection of patients from such harms and risks denotes the concept of patient safety. Patient safety means that patients should be protected from any form of adverse events like healthcare-related harms that may occur during their treatment due to various reasons (The Joint Commission, 2020). Patient safety and health aim to minimize the errors and risks of harm in providing healthcare to patients. Moreover, patient health and safety are vital in the quest to ensure patients get the highest possible standard of health services. This can only be done through the relevant stakeholders improving the health sector so that the system is streamlined and the services offered are timely, safe, and efficient. This requirement of a fast, safe, and efficient healthcare system is also the universally-accepted standard of health. The goal is to prevent crises in the health sector and protect and enhance patients’ wellbeing, safety, and health.
