Answer preview

Once the treatment goals are developed collaboratively with clients, the next step is to develop the treatment objectives. Typically, goals are things a client wishes to change. In contrast, objectives are personal steps the client takes to facilitate the attainment of these goals (Beetham et al., 2020). Like it happens during goal setting, the formulation of treatment objectives should be a collaborative process that includes the client (Beetham et al., 2020). In addition, ensuring that these objectives are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time-limited is vital (Beetham et al., 2020). One of Angel’s treatment objectives is to attend AA meetings to gain insight into how to live sober within the next three days. Doing this will allow him to learn the various skills needed to maintain a sober lifestyle. Angel will also have to find a sponsor within the next two weeks. Doing this will help him remain committed to his sobriety as he completes his AA steps. Finally, Angel will have to book an appointment with a psychologist within the next month. Doing this will allow him to learn new anxiety and anger management techniques.
