The second population that is affected by this inequality is the young adult. Studies carried out in Australia indicate that out of 3 young girls over 15 years, one has been a victim of gender violence (Webster, Diemer, Honey, Mannix, Mickle, Morgan & Ward, 2018). This observation is because it is an accepted stereotype that girls are weaker than boys, thus resulting in some of the boys taking advantage. This male chauvinism has resulted in a decrease in girls who involve themselves in active sports in school (Reay, 2018). Therefore, this gender inequality affects young adults’ ambitions, attitudes, behaviors, and even relationships.
