Method of collecting data

You have been tasked to research the relationship between academic performance and studying either alone or in a group.

  • How would you design the study if you were doing an experimental study?
  • Between these two designs which one would be the best method in this case? Why?

. Your initial post (your response to the topic) must contain a citation. It is your ideas supported by research. Please refer to the APA Power Point in the Start Here section of the classroom for information on proper formatting. There will be a deduction of 20 points for failure to cite a source within your initial post and to provide a reference at the end of your initial post.

Between correlation and experimental research, I would say that experimental research is the best as it allows the researcher to control, measure, calculate and compare the variables (Grønlien, Christoffersen, Ringstad, Andreassen, & Lugo, 2021). It enables one to establish the relationship between the cause and effect of the variables, and it enables one to test their ideas in a controlled environment. Compared to correlation research, experimental research is best as the results are specific and can be applied to similar ideas or situations.
