Answer preview

Nurses can advocate for policy change as a way of improving health care. Nurses who work at the microsocial level carry a lot of weight in changing health care policies. That is because, based on research, the health care profession accounts for more than three million nurses who make up the most significant group able to change health policies (Godsey, Houghton, & Hayes, 2020). Nurses can advocate for policy change by researching and learning and participating in the legislative processes and coalitions. Also, they can conduct the elected officials; and provide expert testimonies that show how much the policies affect them and their patients to help inform policy decisions.
