The primary goal of the nurses is to provide quality and timely care to the patients. Unlike other health professionals like physicians, nurses spend most of their time providing care to the patients and promoting their recovery.  Most nurses understand that a nursing career goes beyond skill performance.  Nurses require to develop their philosophy that they need to follow when providing care to the patients. Also, formulating effective philosophies allows nurses to avoid negative assumptions about patients or communities.  Some of the assumptions that shape my nursing practice are respect and dignity (Sawan, Jeon, & Chen, 2018). According to Bovero, Tosi, Botto, Cito, Malerba, Molfetta, & Torta (2019), nurses should respect each patient or client as a unique individual. They should respect all patients regardless of their race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, age, or other differences.
