Public health uses several program-planning models when developing health programs. MAP-IT is an example of a planning model, which is a logical model that creates efforts that make communities healthy. The MAP-IT model ensures health professionals make plans that bring relevant change to the community when developing health programs (Acha.org, n.d.). It is because health professionals are able to evaluate a community’s health and come up with a health plan containing relevant health interventions. The MAP-IT model uses several components used in a stepwise manner to ensure effectiveness when developing public health plans.
