By Day 4
Post a synthesis of your experiences during the in-residence component and the online course in Weeks 1 through 9. Then, explain which aspects were most valuable for you both personally and professionally. Be sure to include any insights gained from the Learning Resources and from the in-residence component. Finally, explain what professional development steps you will take to continue building on what you learned and experienced online and during the in-residence component.

The in-residence component of this course was the most enjoyable. During this period, I got a chance to apply the theoretical knowledge I soaked up concerning consultation. Working with friends, peers, and experts in various fields also accorded me an opportunity to learn from them either by asking them questions or getting feedback concerning my performance. The in-residence experience allowed me access to first-hand data regarding issues related to mental health consultation. People are generally afraid to approach medical professionals and talk about their mental health issues (Brown et al., 2011). The source of such fear can get attributed to the stigma associated with psychological disorders.
