provide an empirically based and objective framework for the assessment and treatment of mental disorders (Harvey et al., 2009). Furthermore, by focusing on behavioral manifestations of mental health disorders, behavior analysts can get independently verifiable and specific measures of clients’ mental health issues (Harvey et al., 2009). Due to this, behavior analysts can discover the functional links between overt conduct and environment stimuli, leading to the formulation of interventions that re-engineer aspects of clients’ physical and social surroundings (Harvey et al., 2009).

Like any assessment invented, the MBTI has its strengths and shortcomings. One of the limitations of this assessment is poor test-retest reliability (King & Mason, 2020). Many individuals complain that they got different results when they took the test a couple of times (King & Mason, 2020). Studies have over the years clarified that the changed results mostly happen to the dichotomous pairs. Another limitation of MBTI is its low predictive value (King & Mason, 2020). Typically, psychometric assessments are perceived as valid when predicting real-world outcomes. Regarding the MBTI, most critics point to its inability to forecast job performance.

Culture affects the way people express their thoughts and emotions. It is, therefore, not surprising that different cultures manifest and treat anxiety and depression differently. In some cultures, such disorders are expressed using psychological terms, while in other cultures, they are described using other words. The way anxiety and depression are expressed in different cultures are related to the concept of health literacy and stigmatization. For instance, emotions are expressed very differently in the Hispanic culture. They tend to hide their negative emotions and not express them openly (Bailey, Mokonogho, & Kumar, 2019). That is due to the stigma surrounding mental health issues that cause them not to openly talk about their mental health issues for fear of embarrassment or shame. On the contrary, in other ethnic groups within the United States, people express their mental health issues openly. In cultures that use different languages to express mental health, like Latin culture, it becomes hard to seek help and communicate with healthcare professionals.

PTSD is predominantly triggered by trauma. According to Joelle Rabow Maletis, psychological trauma comes from experiencing or witnessing a life-threatening adverse event or one that poses substantial potential for injury to self or others. Additionally, these experiences are generally accompanied by intense horror, helplessness, and fear, leading to PTSD (TED-Ed, 2018). This is similar to what Mr. Brewer dealt with after he was involved in a critical incident that resulted in him shooting an unarmed African American who later died in hospital. According to Mr. Brewer, he was numb and shocked minutes after the incident as he sat in a police car. He constantly replayed the incident in his mind, often thinking that what had happened was not real. One of the impacts of constantly experiencing traumatic events in law enforcement is the development of vicarious trauma (TED-Ed, 2016). Amy Cunningham states that this form of trauma emanates from repetitive empathetic engagement with trauma
