Terrestrial ecosystems
Describe the effects of temperature, moisture, length of photosynthetic period, and nutrient availability on net primary productivity in terrestrial ecosystems. Give examples in your explanations.
Your response should be at least 200 words in length.

Moisture also has an effect on net primary productivity (Knapp et al., 2014). A decline in the level of precipitation results in NPP going down. On the other hand, increasing precipitation has little impact on net primary productivity. The sun plays a vital role in terrestrial ecosystems by supporting the development and metabolism of the organisms located within this ecosystem. Plants rely on sunlight to produce food through a process called photosynthesis. During this process, plants take in the carbon dioxide emitted by other living things and change it into breathable oxygen (Knapp et al., 2014). The longer plants and other primary producers get exposed to sunlight; the more NPP gets recorded.
