While complying with the Clean Air Act is important, special concerns should focus on identifying how to minimize the gas and oil industry pollutants. According to the Clean Air Task Force (CATF) (2) fact sheet, these pollutants are the contributors of smog and ozone particles that have caused approximately 1200 children to suffer from asthma attacks. Worrying, no county outside the South Carolina State escapes the health risks from the pollution. Although the State does not have gas and oil reservoirs, the intense activity of these commodities in the respective industry contributes to the air pollution that spreads across the state borders (2). Hence, the emphasis on promoting health safety through the thorough implementation of the air protection federal standards will significantly improve air quality and people’s well-being.
