Another indication of boundary crossing is the act of nurses accepting awards that do not add value to therapeutic care (BPsySc and DHC, 2016). It is against healthcare protocol for nurses to be awarded; hence they should divert patients from gifting them. Besides, caregivers should refrain from giving their clients gifts since it might induce them to have an adverse reaction. It becomes an issue of concern when a health practitioner becomes too close with a patient. It is because the closeness would interfere with the professional connection present between the caregiver and the client.
The dress code of a nurse is also an indication of professional boundary-crossing. For instance, nurses should not wear tight clothes while they are attending to their clients (Risen, 2016). Some clients might not be comfortable being served by nurses who have worn tight clothes. Besides, caregivers should refrain from wearing exposing types of clothes as it might send the wrong messages to their clients.
