Application of Transformational Thinking to Solve Problems
One of the critical roles played by a nurse manager is to ensure that patients get access to high-quality and safe medical care (Doucette, 2017). From what I gathered from my nurse manager, in order to successfully fulfill such a duty, nurse managers have to work in tandem with the subordinate nurses. More often than not, nurses are the first persons patients come into contact with when they arrive at a hospital and spend the most time with patients. As such, nurses need to cooperate with nurse managers to guarantee access to safe and effective care. In line with this, I observed and took part in a couple of meetings whereby the nurse manager and nurses talked about how they can improve the quality of care accorded to patients at the facility.
Attending these meetings gave me a chance to witness transformational leadership in action.
