The problem statement and research questions are usually guiding tools for research. The objectives of the research are to make sure the research questions are answered extensively and clearly explained. A study must identify the population in question and extract an appropriate sample whose results would be generalized for the entire population. The characteristics of the population under study are usually represented as variables for each participant in the study. It is the values contained in the variables that will be analyzed to identify the implications of the findings. The two broad categories of variables include qualitative and quantitative variables. According to Kaliyadan & Kulkarni (2019), qualitative variables cannot be quantified and so expressed in character strings, while quantitative variables are expressed in numerical values.(369 words)
