Workplace discrimination is a long-established issue in the workplace. Despite being declared illegal in the US and other countries, it still exists. The US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) was created for addressing complaints on discrimination threats from organizations. Many cases of workplace discrimination reported to EEOC involve gender, race, age, and disability. Workplace discrimination in the US involves job opportunities, promotions, salaries and benefits, and performance reviews. White male employees with criminal records have higher hiring chances than blacks without criminal records (Singletary, & Hebl, 2009). The issue is high since an employee cannot often prove discrimination intent. The loopholes are the foundation for increased discrimination in US organizations, including large employers like Walmart. Incidences of gender discrimination lawsuit that were prevalent two decades ago are a common occurrence in the organization.
