Answer preview

I will use an event from the Canon-McMillan School District in Eighty Four Pennsylvania, to illustrate this. In 2016, the district came up with a lunch shaming policy that required cafeteria employees to dispose of any remaining hot lunches instead of serving them to students who are unable to clear off their debts (Kate, 2019). One of the cafeteria workers felt it was unethical to do this and quit their job. Instead of seeing the harm, the policy will do, the Canon-McMillan school board defended it, with one of the board members indicating that they came up with the policy, not to embarrass students but rather to help recoup the money their families owed the district. He further stated before they instituted the policy, three hundred families owed the district between sixty thousand dollars and one hundred thousand dollars.
