The micro-factors relate to my other family members and the extended family as they can negatively influence the stability of their marriage in one way or another, leading to a divorce. For instance, I have witnessed the influence of the shift of family dependence on the breadwinner from the husband to wife in my extended family member’s divorce. Even though this was not the main factor that contributed to the divorce, it was one of the aspects that influenced it. When the women are economically empowered compared to their male counterparts, the male counterparts may feel threatened, hence instability in marriage (Yean-Ju, 2022). This usually happens when the women feel like ‘superpowers’ instead of being the supportive partners in the marriage.
