Finally, the aspect of veracity, which includes confidentiality, truthfulness, and fidelity, is essential when caring for a patient about to die. The nurse-patient relationship is a close one, especially when the patient is about to die as they are highly dependent on the nurse. Patients tend to share many memories and experiences with their caregivers (Mauk, 2010). As such, I will need to observe these three qualities in maintaining a healthy relationship with patients at the end of their life.
