Few solutions can positively impact the situation. Among the most direct responses would be to accept the laws that have hindered prosecution and, instead, focus on keeping the UN accountable to its promise to compensate the victims. If unsatisfied with the status quo, the victims can use social action to influence the courts to deliver a more favorable verdict for the victims. Social action is often useful in breaking an impasse and could affect the courts’ view on the need to compensate the victims. Lastly, the victims could move the case out of the US judicial system and find a country that does not grant immunity to international organizations where a prosecution is more likely to happen.
