Answer preview

In contemporary society, leaders should have the ability to influence others to follow their directives. Having a leadership title is almost always never sufficient to sway people to act in a particular manner. There are certain attributes and traits a leader has to demonstrate to their followers to convince them to follow their directives or implement their ideas. One of my greatest assets is my listening skills. Ever since I was young, my parents endeavored to inculcate into me the essence of listening first before speaking. Courtesy of this, I was able to hone my listening skills, and with consistent practice, I was able to become an active listener. This skill has so far proven to be quite invaluable to me, especially during my leadership tenures in my academic life. From experience, I understood that to convince or influence people to follow the agenda I came up with, these individuals needed to be heard.
