Non-therapeutic sterilization refers to the process in which an individual undergoes an invasive procedure that can hinder their ability to reproduce. The bioethical issue of this process is that an individual can sign a consent form and undergo a procedure that removes a functional body part (Del Sordo et al., 2019). However, it is considered an act of arrogance against God’s plan of procreation since it may weaken one’s capacity to reproduce.

  1. Principle of double effect; explain

Double effects are based on the assumption that a single act results in two simultaneous impacts, whereby one is ethically correct, and the other is bad. The decision to uphold the act must meet its morally indifferent conditions. Other conditions to meet the double effect are that the excellent result should not be achieved through evil means, and evil desires are not allowed unless a grave reason is provided. Lastly, the principle of double effect cannot be fulfilled without a bad outcome available.
