Becoming a nurse practitioner gives an individual the opportunity to specialize in a field I am truly passionate about, where I will focus my services on promoting health in the industry as a nurse practitioner. Choosing this path will enable me to focus on the area that best aligns with my experience and interests, as Côté et al. (2019) stated in their observation. For instance, one can focus on pediatrics if one is passionate about caring for children. Other than my passion for pursuing a specific field, becoming a nurse practitioner provides many opportunities due to the high demand for healthcare services from the public, the high prevalence of long-term diseases, and the ever-changing technological advancements. Furthermore, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (2019) affirms that a nurse practitioner is one of the fastest growing occupations in the U.S., with a growth rate of 46%U.S. The statistics also indicate the high pay that by becoming a nurse practitioner, I will contribute to improved patient outcomes thus, patient satisfaction.
