Your paper must include the following:

  • A summary of each disorder (e.g. Bipolar Disorder and Alcohol Abuse Disorder)
  • A visual such as a table or chart that compares and contrasts the symptoms and behaviors associated with each disorder
  • A list of the provider roles that could work with this client in a collaborative team approach with descriptions of how they each may function within the team
  • An explanation for how to implement preventative programs for substance use disorders such as selected in this paper within an integrated health setting. Include the previously listed roles within the explanation.

Alcoholism, also known as alcohol dependence or use disorder, refers to a situation whereby a person consumes so much alcohol to the extent that their bodies become dependent on alcohol to function normally (Legg, 2018). Once this happens, consuming alcohol becomes unavoidable for such a person, and it becomes a vital part of their existence. In line with this, alcoholics will continue with their drinking habits irrespective of whether the cost of such behavior to themselves, their families, and those around them. Courtesy of their dependence on alcohol, more often than not, such individuals end up losing their jobs or even destroying the relationships they have with the people around them (Legg, 2018). The exact causes of alcohol use disorder are still challenging for health care experts to pinpoint.
