Mandatory vaccinations are highly effective in promoting positive health outcomes in recipients who are healthy. Indeed vaccinations offer near-certain protection from diseases in events of an outbreak for adults and are a human right for children (Cantor, 2019). Mandatory vaccinations also prevent the spread of infections to vulnerable populations. There are many barriers to the success of voluntary vaccination programs such as religious beliefs, and hence vaccination plays a vital role when there are threats of an outbreak. Compared to the voluntary vaccination programs, there are improved health outcomes in mandatory vaccination programs. It is the extensive vaccination efforts aligned with positive health outcomes in society. The compulsory vaccination of children at least for some illnesses such as polio, measles, and rubella as a condition for admission to public schools is significant (Ciolli, 2009). The reemergence of illness levels, such as measles in the US, indicates the need for increasingly stringent vaccination measures.
