Rejected children are poor in social lifestyles. Such children are more aggressive and have poor communication skills. Even when they approach their peers, their initiation of friendships is always turned down. Most of these children suffer from anxiety and depression, and they perform worse academically as they struggle to stay focused on their studies (Cillessen, 2019). Controversial children combine both popular and rejected profiles as they are highly liked and highly rejected by others. They are active, visible, extremely social, assertive, and mainly viewed as leaders. Their school performance differs as some are extremely good in academics while others are poor. Then there are the average children who have both good and bad social characteristics. However, this doesn’t mean that there is anything wrong with the children, only that their social relationship is different.
