The introduction of aerodynamic engineering led to the development of simple airplanes. They were made of trees, wire, and canvas. In the early stages, airplanes were used to locate the enemy troop location. Later, the Germans troops armed the plans with machine guns that could fire forward without shooting the propeller. The allies later armed their planes in the same making the war on the air more intense. The Germans later developed large planes that carried and dropped bombs on French and British cities. Another weapon available during the first world war was artillery operated manually by the troops. The airplanes used in WW1 were much slower compared to those used in World War 2.
