Answer preview
Most policies and guidelines are made at the macro level affecting the different groups within the industry. These roles are delegated to the microsystems. In relation, the microsystem will then focus on the delivery of quality service in line with the policies. The role of implementation delegated to microsystems makes them critical in facilitating sustainable change and positive patient outcomes in the sector. There are several challenges experienced by the microsystem where I work as a nurse student. One major challenge is the coordination of activities in a multidisciplinary team. Valuing and trusting team members’ efforts and expertise is a major challenge affecting multidisciplinary teams that help patients with complex care needs (Berg, Akerjordet, Ekstedt & Aase, 2018). In the past, poor coordination and teamwork have led to delay in care delivery and negative patient outcomes affecting the macro system’s overall performance.
