Love is very expensive, and we should not take it for granted. The fact that no one can equate material things for love resonates with me (Albom, n.d.). Today, people have invested in material things and forgot about love. For example, parents are no longer having enough time to associate with their children because they spend a lot of time at work. As a result, children grow up without parental love that exposes them to abusive love from outsiders. Once parents learn that they have not been showing enough love to their children, they try to reverse whatever had happened using money. For example, some children may end up joining gangs to experience the love their parents denied them. To reverse that, parents try to pay for rehabilitation services so that their children can change their behaviors. However, rehabilitation cannot make children experience the love that parents have not offered to them. Therefore, parents must accept that love cannot be replaced by material things. They should take responsibility and show their children the love they deserve.
