As alluded to in the introductory part of the paper, the European Union is one of the most attractive foreign investment destinations globally. Numerous organizations are using various expansion strategies to move their operations into the EU and gain access to its vibrant and large markets. One of the by-products of globalization is an increase in global and regional integration due to the free movement of people and goods. The emergence of the EU can largely be attributed to the desire amongst European countries to attain political and economic integration. According to Pollack (2015), the European Union emerged out of the need to come up with a single political entity that would prevent the emergence of future wars in the continent. By the end of World War II, numerous European countries acknowledged that another war in the continent would have extensive political and economic consequences (Pollack, 2015).

The use of haunting and deep shadows in the film is adopted to make the viewers see the world through the lens of Francis, a character uncertain about the facts of his life. Francis’s view of the world is a twisted perception he has created to satisfy his mind’s creation. For example, the walls of Jane’s room and the hallway are painted black with little white breaks to bring out dark shadows. Robert Wiene uses this setting to play out the scene where Cesare, the delusional man, tries to murder Jane by taking advantage of the dark shadows and appearing out of nowhere as he attacks Jane. The use of shadows, in this case, is used to portray Cesare’s evil and dreadful character. Similarly, deep and dark shades are used in the film to paint the theme of horror that the audience can identify with. The consistent use of shadows in the film establishes the gothic horror atmosphere for the audience to connect with the horror feeling as they watch.

Patients with such disorders have difficulty with daily life activities because they lack episodic memory and an awareness of self. Lucy’s autobiographical memory seems to function better appropriately for at least a day, as she can maintain a sense of continuity and recall events before her accident. However, her memory seems to need improvement. Patients with such disorders are treated through learning methods involving implicit memory that focuses heavily on repetition and practice (Cuncic, 2019). For instance, Henry shows Lucy a daily video about her memory loss and updates her about everything she has forgotten.
