Miami has a record for having the worst traffic across the country. Miami is one of the most congested cities in the country and the third most populous metropolis on the East coast US.  Currently, the Miami population is approximately 2,416,940 people (Census.gov. nd). The metropolis is popularly known for having the worst traffic congestion, especially pick hours. Quintana outlines that Miami experiences heavy congestions on most of the roads, including Palmetto Expressway traffic, Dolphin expressway, and others (1). The ever increasing traffic on roads entering and leaving Miami taints its good reputation.  Although Miami county, in conjunction with the Florida state government, is working hard to lessen the Miami traffic, most motorists and passengers are glued on the roads for a long time before they reach their destination.
