Cognitive disorders impair the cognitive function of individuals to a point where they perform abnormally. Hannah, Balthazard, Waldman, Jennings, & Thatcher (2013) highlights that impairments are encountered in neurological conditions such as stroke and Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) identified in the rehabilitation process. Traumatic brain injury is a typical example of a cognitive issue that affects the normal functioning of the brain. Individuals suffering from this disorder are unable to form new memories or remember events that happened in the long-term and short term. The ability to respond to stimuli is reduced while the time is taken to recognize and manipulate information increases.
