Technological innovation has decreased social justice and increased inequality in the country. Although drilling helps the country to meet its energy needs, it has negative implications on the environment. The production of products such as oil and natural gas pollutes the environment. The article highlights that the drilling methods generate large quantities of greenhouse gases and pollute both air and water (Meng, 2017). Also, it presents occupational safety challenges to the people working in offshore drilling sites. Despite the implementation of occupational safety standards, injuries, accidents, and work-related deaths in the sector remain common. There is a common belief dangerous chemicals used during fracking which can be harmful to human. Moreover, fracking technology is associated with the pollution of underground water. Some authors believe that chemicals added to the ground pollute underground water. Therefore, I will be the leading cause of water shortage in the future.
