Today, the area of multi-threaded processors is experiencing innovations. According to Giret (2020), early this year, AMD showed its innovative efforts by developing a mobile processor for PCs. The processor has up to eight cores and sixteen threads. Moreover, the processor is 90% faster in multi-threaded performance compared to its competitors from Intel. Also, the area of operating system designs is under innovation too. Microsoft’s BIG project has led to the growth of cloud computing through automated operating systems (microsoft, 2020). The mobile processors and automated operating systems are presenting major effects in the computing field. That is, computers are becoming more potable as new processors emerge. Also, data centers are becoming more powerful with automated operating systems that run without human involvement.

I have witnessed fellow college students engage in binge drinking, mainly at house parties. IT poses similar effects to alcoholism since, after some time, most of them are usually blacked out. In the first year, most juniors encounter challenges when it comes to socializing. Therefore, to fit in, they feel pressured and compelled to join their peers in binge drinking. The act is mainly perceived to be fun and harmless. The activity slowly progresses and occurs regularly, resulting in alcoholism. Once the feeling of loneliness becomes overwhelming as I have witnessed among college students, they engage in heavy binge drinking to cope with depression. Other factors among college students attributed to high alcohol consumption over a single period are overcoming personal insecurities and fears (Wrye and Pruitt, 2017).

The best part of this pool party is games, food, and drinks. A set of games that will be played around the pool include swimming pool races and obstacle course. The games will keep everyone busy and happy during this party. Moreover, the joy will not be enough without having something to eat and drink. Therefore, I have prepared snacks and drinks, which will be enough for everyone. For example, I have organized the preparation of cupcakes and lemonade, which will be placed on tables around the pool for everyone to eat and drink. All these will make everyone enjoy the party, and I will remember that day forever, so please consider my pool party plan and accept it. Thank you.

Risk-taking behaviors

Describe two external stressors that are unique to adolescents. Discuss what risk-taking behaviors may result from the external stressors and what support or coping mechanism can be introduced.

Answer preview

These external stressors may cause risk-taking behaviors such as abuse of drugs and alcohol. When adolescents join college, they struggle with socializing and end up being lonely, which prompts them to use drugs and alcohol. Others abuse substances to please their peers and fit in. Sexual intimacies are also risky behaviors that may result in unwanted pregnancies and abortions among campus students. Crimes also increase among campus students, such as shoplifting and vandalism (Tate et al. 2017). The pressure to have money to buy the latest fashions is high, and some students lack adequate resources for a luxurious lifestyle.

Efficient organizational operation depends on each member fulfilling their part and trusting others to do their roles. Blake has been undermined by poor communication among its employees, especially on matters requiring interdepartmental cooperation. Poor information sharing culture has proved costly as the organization failed to process some customers’ inquiries and lost potential income (Groysberg & Baden, 2017). The organization has been unable to implement its plans and leverage new opportunities on multiple occasions because Sales, Finance, and Operations departments had a flawed collaborative framework. Even when timely feedback is provided, each department suspects the other of pursuing ulterior motives.

. The reason is that students learn how to build one another in their everyday learning activities and conversations. Most importantly, I believe that teachers should be cautious about their message when teaching. When engaging in thoughtful discussions, their opinions and ideas should be sensitive. Instructors need to understand personal biases that endorse racism and bullying. Their actions help learners realize that relying on personal biases promotes social injustices. Consequently, students get empowered to engage in advocacy activities on social justice, such as social media campaigns that raise awareness of social change. Their collaborative efforts in shunning the social injustices through the campaigns they create have a positive impact on society. In actuality, the students realize the importance of being ambassadors of social change. However, they cannot engage in such ventures if they do not learn from the classroom setting the importance of eliminating discriminatory actions.

Author demonstrating good critical thinking skills in their article

Allie Vope, in her article titled “7 ways to make Facebook, Instagram, & your social media life less stressful,” expertly uses critical thinking to point out possible solutions to the adverse effects of social media usage (2018). She begins by outlying how social media started as a phenomenon that transformed communication and interaction in society. However, over time, some psychological problems started emerging, courtesy of high social media usage. Vope then gathers all pertinent data about the issues associated with using social networking platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. She mostly looks at how experts have delineated the problem and the possible solutions they feel might help overcome them (Vope, 2018).

Disability can be managed using equipment for people with disabilities. These equipment include wheelchairs, walkers, and hearing aids. Also, through special education, the disabled can read and even write just like a normal person. Therefore, if I encounter disabled children in my classroom, I would feel the need to become friends with them. It is because they need a companion from the people around them to feel a sense of belonging. One of the pictures in the film shows a girl trying to read in braille (IRIS Center 1). It shows the effort that the teachers and parents have offered to make sure that the child is living a normal life. If the girl can read despite her disability, it means that she can communicate effectively with other people around her. However, from my perception, the girl is now in need of companionship. It is because she can communicate, and she needs someone to communicate with. I recommend that it is good to give disabled children everything they need to make them live like normal people. But I feel that without friendship, the education and equipment for disabled people are nothing because they need people around them to support them emotionally as they utilize the education equipment offered to them. Therefore, in case we encounter disabled children in our classrooms, we should start by making them our friends.

post-racial

Following the shooting of Michael Brown, an unarmed black youth in Ferguson, MO, and the failure of the grand jury to indict the police officer involved, the hashtag #BlackLivesMatter trended. Some argued that our society is “post-racial” and that #AllLivesMatter. What do you believe? Why might some individuals argue society is “post-racial” while others assert that race continues to be salient? What are the implications of this ongoing debate for social workers? Post must be in APA format, with at least one peer reviewed journal article, textbook, or creditable website for in-text citations and reference (s) to support your discussion post thoughts. Must be at least 7 sentences or more in length.

Answer preview

Some individuals may argue that society is post-racial due to exceptional events such as the election and reelection of President Barrack Obama (Lum, 2014). It suggested that African Americans had eventually achieved equality and that the United States was experiencing a post-racial era.  Others claim this is based on Constitutional changes that prohibit racial discriminations such as the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act. They believe that these events laid to rest the historical legacies of slavery and racism in America. On the contrary, advocates for black lives matter disagree and strongly claim that race continues to be salient, and America has never been in a post-racial era. It is because of the harsh realities of racial discrimination and oppression that continue to affect minority groups.
