In the state of Alabama, imposter scams are common frauds, where scammers look for ways of stealing other people’s money. A common method used by scammers is data breach to acquire information that helps them to steal. I read an article that was examining why it is hard to determine data breach impacts on individuals and organizations (COFFEY, n.d). The article explains that data breaches impact most constituencies in the state. A data breach has the most impact on individuals, and no success has been realized in assessing and preventing data breaches. The efforts have not yielded any fruits because fraudsters evolve with the upgrades to security features, where they use different ways to obtain individual data. Businesses have opted to minimize the reporting of a data breach. However, individuals require information about all attacks performed and how they affect them.
