The Doctor of Nursing Practice

The student will review assigned readings and/or textbooks and then discuss the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Project clinical
practice problem or problem identified in NSG 7300 that can be addressed through an evidence-based practice project. Students should
consider theories provided in assigned readings and any additional resource readings, to determine how a theoretical framework can be
applied to the clinical practice problem.

Assignment Criteria:
Develop a scholarly paper that addresses the following criteria:
1. Select two theories (one nursing and another theory or two nursing theories) that can support the underpinnings of the
identified DNP clinical problem.
a. For this assignment only, may use references older than five years old.
2. Summarize the two selected theories.
3. Describe the DNP clinical problem.
4. Select the best theoretical framework to support the clinical practice problem.
a. It is important to select a theory applicable to the DNP project of interest.
b. Chapter 1 of the DNP project will require a clear and logical application of a theoretical framework.
5. Discuss why the selected theory was chosen.
6. Apply the theory directly to the DNP clinical practice problem.
7. Discuss how the theory will guide or support the theoretical framework of the clinical practice problem.
a. Consider the components/variables of the theory and how they will be applied to the DNP clinical practice problem.
b. Be specific. This section will be used as the DNP project’s basic underpinning for Chapter 1 theoretical discussion.
8. The scholarly paper should be in narrative format, 4 to 6 pages in length, excluding the title and reference page.
9. Include an introductory paragraph, purpose statement, and a conclusion.
10. Include level 1 and 2 headings to organize the paper.
11. Write the paper in third person, not first person (meaning do not use ‘we’ or ‘I’) and in a scholarly manner. To clarify: I, we,
you, me, our may not be used. In addition, describing yourself as the researcher or the author should not be used.
12. Include at least five professional peer-reviewed scholarly journal references to support the paper (review in Ulrich Periodical
Directory). Sources older than five (5) years old are acceptable for this assignment only.
13. APA format required (attention to spelling/grammar, a title page, a reference page, and in-text citations).

Requirements: narrative format, 4 to 6 pages in length, excluding the title and reference page.

The same problem/PICOT question is to be used for this paper as the other. The same textbooks are used as well. (c119)

Answer preview

The person-centered theory is effective in the DNP clinical practice problem in implementation. The solution to the problem explores the potential collaboration between the provider and the patient in the healthcare setting to improve results (Castañeda et al., 2020). Compared to the usual care, a patient-centered approach promotes the level of screening. The practitioner can seek to understand the fears and hindrances to cancer screening and help the patient navigate to eliminate the barriers. Latinos/Hispanics can be identified as at-risk or vulnerable patients to cancer mortality. Each patient’s concern about the economic, social, and emotional factors is the primary factor that influences screening.
