The African American culture mainly focusses on the cultural contribution of Americans of African origin, which is classified as a distinct or part of American culture. African American culture is rooted back in the historical experience of the middle passage. However, slavery subjected to Americans of African descent restricted them from practicing their cultural traditions, beliefs, and values. During this period, they believed in performing rituals and ceremonies, which was a significant part of their culture. They also believed that spirits existed in the surrounding nature and spiritual life sources existed after death (Bielicki et al., 2020). However, after emancipation, the black culture flourished but later eroded due to the white culture’s blend.
